How Operation: Send Some Cheer became:
We know being away from  home is difficult, but the holidays are especially hard. These care packages are the least we can do to show support and give Our Country's Soldiers the thanks they deserve for defending our nation.

During the 2010 holiday season, instead of buying gifts for family and friends, we decided to ship care packages to deployed service men and women. We had our children and their friends get involved and make cards and drawings to include in each gift. After assembling and shipping 177 care packages to the U.S. troops, we exhausted our funds, and still had items left to send.

While shopping one day, a Girl Scout Troop was there collecting items, and arrangements were made to donate the rest of the stuff that we were not able to ship. Enabling the rest of our items made it to the Troops to be enjoyed!

From that 2010 holiday season, Operation Send Some Cheer grassroots organization was born.

Events have been held across the US to send
numerous care packages and letters of support to deployed soldiers.

Anyone interested in donating items or funds to help ship care packages can either contact me (Katie) directly via email at: kschnorrbusch@yahoo.com,
